MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of this coffeehouse is to provide a safe, family oriented environment for members of the community to enjoy live acoustic music while also enjoying refreshments in a smoke-free, alcohol free environment. Further, we expect to provide an atmosphere that is friendly and inspirational to those in need of fellowship as well as those who may be seeking a Church family. By displaying for sale a limited inventory of Fair Trade products, we will also be promoting the cause of the World Hunger Ecumenical Action Task-Force. As a "volunteer" organization, we will serve the Church by maintaining high standards of service to the community through sharing of music, fellowship and community involvement.
CHARTER
We hereby declare that The Music Room - A Listening Room will provide service to the Church and the community in the following manner:
1. Open our doors to the community on Saturday evenings from 7:00 until 10:00.
2. Provide scheduled live acoustic music by local musicians and make the stage available to unscheduled performers for ½ hour each evening. Musicians may use keyboards and small bass amps but no plug in instruments otherwise.
3. Keep a small inventory of Fair Trade Products and brochures for sale and
patron information.
4. Serve only non-alcoholic beverages and light snacks.
5. Provide information regarding Shepherd of the Valley to anyone seeking
information regarding services, membership or Fair Trade Store.
6. Provide a venue for music and art classes to hold recitals.
7. Ensure that patrons conduct themselves in an acceptable manner at all times.
8. Return the Youth Center to the condition prior to use by the coffeehouse and provide proper care to maintain premises in proper order..
9. Keep careful records of income and expenses and return net profits to the Church each month-end.
